Salvatore Pulvirenti holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from Pisa University. He is serving the company since beginning of 2003 as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at international level, in charge of technology guidelines for the group and technical infrastructure integration and operation.
Salvatore joined Tiscali in August 2000 as CTO for foreign markets and worked as VP Service Development and Architecture from beginning 2001 till the end of 2002, in charge of restructuring IT infrastructure for all the Tiscali Subsidiaries in Europe.
Before joining Tiscali, Salvatore was vice president at Telecom Italia, where was responsible of Technical Operations at tin.it, the ISP of Telecom Italia, after having worked, as responsible for Systems and Services Operations at Video On Line (Italy's first national ISP ) since 1995, company acquired by Telecom Italia in 1996.
Prior to Video On Line, from 1992 to 1994, Salvatore worked, as Associated Researcher at CRS4 (Center for Advanced Studies, Research and Development in Sardinia, founded in 1992) as a member of the Computers and Networks Group, helping in developing the IT and IP Network infrastructure for the Centre.
Since 1987 Salvatore worked in companies of Finsiel Group and then IBM Group, covering different roles and ICT fields such as software development, networking, systems management.
