Milan, 19th December 2005 - Tiscali International Network, the wholesales company of the Tiscali group and LCL, the largest independent supplier of co-location in Belgium sign a partnership through which customers can now enjoy their joint offering on disaster recovery.
The offering of TINet and LCL consists of collocation space in two separate LCL data centers (Antwerp and Diegem) combined with high capacity internet connectivity from Tiscali International Network in both locations. Both sites are additionally interconnected with Ethernet over MPLS (Virtual Leased Line), allowing the customer to interconnect both sides with a private redundant connection.
A virtual leased line, based on MPLS technology supported by Class of Service and Traffic Engineering for fast re-routing, offers more flexibility with regards to capacity, a higher level of redundancy at a lower total cost than traditional leased lines.
LCL is the only supplier that offers colocation facilities in two data centers separated more than 40 kilometers from each other within Belgium, which is a requirement for companies taking disaster recovery seriously. Thanks to this, LCL and TINet can offer an exceptional high level of redundancy, both physically as with regards to connectivity.
The opening of their second LCL PoP at our site in Diegem proves that TINet commits to our customer oriented approach, according to Laurens van Reijen, managing director of LCL. In dealing with TINet, we find the same flexibility we offer our customers, which obviously facilitates this partnership. Our customers can now connect in both datacenters to one single supplier, which makes the joint offer extremely attractive for disaster recovery and business continuity solutions".
