Mario Mariani appointed CEO of Tiscali Italia Srl

Cagliari, 28 June 2006 - The Board of Directors of Tiscali Italia Srl, Italian operating subsidiary fully owned by Tiscali SpA, has appointed Mario Mariani as CEO of Tiscali Italia Srl, following the resignation of Sergio Cellini for personal reasons.

Tiscali SpA wish to thank Sergio Cellini for the important contribution to the Group during these years both in the UK and in the Italian operating subsidiaries.

After a long standing experience in technological innovation, Mario Mariani, 39, in 1995 joins Video On Line (first ever Italian ISP and first in the world to offer free internet) in its start up phase following, as product manager, the development of the on line internet services. In 1996, following the acquisition of Video On Line by Telecom Italia, Mariani becomes product manager of Tin.it. In 1998 Mariani joins the newly founded Tiscali SpA where he has held different managerial positions both in Italy and at corporate level.

Starting as marketing and product manager for Italy, he is then appointed Senior Vice President Business Development and Board Member of Tiscali Services,in charge of the development of Media and Value Added Services and of Tiscali Lab. Mariani is also a member of Tiscali Group’s Management Committee.
