Tiscali Business presents the new SHDLS products for SME and public local administration

Milan, 22nd January 2008 - Tiscali Business Services, the business unit dealing with products and services dedicated to public and private companies, has announced the launch of a new service based on SHDSL technology. The new SHDSL Enterprise products offer a reliable Internet connectivity, without space or time limits, with asimmetric band up to 2 megabit per second (Mbps) and minimum cell rate higher than 1 Mbps both in uploading and downloading.

The SHDSL gives SME and local administrations new opportunities for the usage of the net, which were definitely less available until now: on the one end, due to DSL techical limits (uploading limited performances, gradual signal degradation due to the raise of the distance from the plant), on the other hand for the high costs of dedicated permanent circuits that were the reference option to obtain highest performances. Moreover, in comparison to HDSL marketed in the past, a SHDSL line has a unic duplex cable, and this is why, other performances being equal, it is cheaper and more simple in activation and maintenance, in case it is needed.
Tiscali SHDSL service has a monthly fee of 179,50 Euro (excl. VAT) with a high value for money, without a direct competitor in the present Italian business broadband market scenario.

SHDSL Enterprise products are supplemented by additional services dedicated to enterprises and administrations, as the option of router rental with the warranty of substitution in 24 hours in case of failure and, if necessary, with a tailored configuration thanks to the onsite installation by a technician. Moreover the offer gives free subscription of a domain with 500 MB web space, 50 email boxes with anti-virus and anti-spam, and 32 public IP addresses to satisfy any net management need.
The service is currently available in the most part of Tiscali ULL sites (more than 400 telephonic plants in the main chief towns) and the coverage will be extended further on during 2008.
